Maryhill Winery Value with a View

I recently had the privilege of visiting Maryhill Winery as part of a press familiarization trip. As I sift back through my notes to re-live the adventure, two thoughts come to mind. This is an awesome place to visit. The wines are an amazing quality to price ratio (QPR)…all 29 of them. Founded in 1999, Maryhill Winery has grown to 80,000 cases making it the 15th largest winery in the state and one of the largest family owned wineries. Craig and Vicki Leuthold, from Spokane, WA are passionately involved in every step of the journey. Situated on the Washington side […]

From the Grape to the Glass Pt 3: Harvest and Crush

In August we began following the 2010 Barrister Winery Bacchus Cabernet Sauvignon from the grape to the glass. Progress Report: Construction Delays and Collaboration

Everyone knows that when opening a business things never go according to plan and you always spend more than you budgeted. I wish I could say my adventure was different. So, here goes my list (not in any kind of order) of what I love about sparkling wine.  From Guest Author Coryn Briggs of Black Star Farms Winery  1. Bubbly is […]

Nectar Monthly Honors For October 2010

It is always fun looking back at the previous month seeing where I’ve been, what I’ve drank and all the fun articles and posts that people across the bloggersphere have written. October, like all the months prior to it, proved to be an amazing whirlwind adventure of wine, friends, and more. The thing that separates October from the previous 10 months of this blog are major announcements of Nectar Tasting Room, rebranding from DrinkNectar.com to NectarWineBlog.com, and the completion of the first issue of Spokane Wine Magazine. Through all of this, you have made October the most visited month in […]
