We are excited to share that 3 of the Nectar Tasting Room wineries performed very well at the recent Savor Northwest Wine Competition.
The Savor NW Wine Awards were launched in 2012, and the competition is organized by Gary Hayes and Pelican Productions, which stages the Savor Cannon Beach Wine & Culinary Festival and publishes Coast Explorer Magazine, Cannon Beach Magazine and the Seaside Visitor Guide.
Wines are reviewed BLIND, meaning that the panel of judges only knows the grape variety being tested. Each group of 4 judges evaluates the wine on quality and varietal correctness. Wines receive scores of ‘No medal’ ‘Bronze’ ‘Silver’ and ‘Gold’ – If all four panelists select a wine as ‘Gold’ it is given a ‘Double Gold.’ The top wines of the weekend are then reevaluated and the best are awarded ‘Best in Class.’
